[bug] Can't set default Ask vs Search, What's New and Walkthough have same issue.

Describe the bug

The UI always defaults to Ask after a browser restart. It'd be nice if it remembered the last selected item or if we could set it as an ENV.

To reproduce

1. Go to site.
2. In the dropdown, change to "Search".
3. Close browser.
4. Go to site again.
5. Defaults to "Ask"

Not a biggie, just an annoyance. Thanks for the great project!
Not sure if some if new and walkthrough/intro are related to the docker container upgrading and restarting or not, FYI.

Some of my teammates face this as well, not sure why but I never face it even after restarts 🤷
