Add openweather multi ( language ) parameter

I knew this request was coming. I experimented with it, but found the effect a bit underwhelming. The other texts need translations as well, and also the many possible date formats with translations for days and months must be added, and then there will be the non-ASCII accent letters to be shown.

The Adafruit GFX internal 5x7 pixel font, which only supports CP437 character set (OLD IBM PC), is a problem for translating UTF-8 characters; we would need minimal an extended ANSI character set 5x7 pixel font.

To make it universal, it will be a major undertaking.

The display of non CP437 is quite simple and the function was in the news client, I think it was called "cleantext".

There it converted non CP437 to CP437 chars, example
å -> a
ä -> ae
ö - oe

And date formats is just 3 different ones.

and to change language in OpenWeatherMap is just a lang=se tothe API string to get Swedish

And yes then there is translation of weekdays, months and wind directions, but that could wait or it could be implemented as a json that could be fetched from the repo as a .json file.

The OWM weather API returns the weather description and city name in the specified language. The character format is UTF-8, which means that ASCII-96 characters are 1-byte 0x20-0x7F, and the extended character codes 0xA0-0xFF are send with 2 bytes. It requires an ANSI cp1252 font set for direct translation, however this is not supported right out-of-the-box in Adafruit GFX library. Replacing the build-in font without library modification is easy, but generating the font is the hard part; hopefully someone else has already done this.

Replacing the accented multi-byte character with standard ASCII character string one-by-one is also a possibility when one accept some loss of readability. It was indeed coded in a cleantext function of the news client. Doing it for all European (latin) languages requires a lot of code space and will be pretty slow.

Any UTF-8 text source will need this conversion, that includes

• weather description
• city name
• Marquee message (configuration page)
• MQTT message

There is a workaround, just add &lang=de after the API string in the Web interface will change the weather description to your language. &lang=de change de to the language code of your choosing.

Check https://openweathermap.org/current#multi for languages and be aware that only latin ASCII CP437 is supported.
