Similar problem and error happens with all three of the latest Apple macOS updates released on 08-20-25.
When attempting to create a "Disk Image" export of 15.6.1, 14.7.8 or 13.7.8, the following dialogue error appears.
Contents matched the log entry:

installer: Package name is macOS Sonoma
installer: Installing at base path /Volumes/093-22120
installer: The install failed.
(The Installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install.
The Installer could not install the software.)

I also verified that there is no problem with the downloaded "InstallAssistant.pkg' of either of the three macOS.
The MIST steps proceed without any errors until it got to Setup, "Error creating macOS Installer in Disk Image..
FYI, this problem did not exist with any of the three previous macOS updates released on 07-29-25
