Cannot create Disk Image export of macOS 15.6.1, 14.7.8 or 13.7.8 (same issues as #182 thru #188)

Similar problem and error happens with all three of the latest Apple macOS updates released on 08-20-25.

When attempting to create a "Disk Image" export of 15.6.1, 14.7.8 or 13.7.8, the following dialogue error appears.
Contents matched the log entry:

2025-08-22T19:44:05Z Error Invalid Termination Status: 1
installer: Package name is macOS Sonoma
installer: Installing at base path /Volumes/093-22120
installer: The install failed.
(The Installer could not install the software because there was no software found to install.
The Installer could not install the software.)

2025-08-22 15:44:04.107 installer[69792:9880668] Opened package is not the same at install time...

I also verified that there is no problem with the downloaded "InstallAssistant.pkg' of either of the three macOS.
The MIST steps proceed without any errors until it got to Setup, "Error creating macOS Installer in Disk Image..

FYI, this problem did not exist with any of the three previous macOS updates released on 07-29-25
when attempting to create a "Disk Image" export of each one. The entire process proceeded without any errors

I tried downloading 12.7.4, as a test, and got the same "Error creating macOS Installer in Disk Image..." in Setup.

This is a problem with the system you're running it on, not the installers you're downloading. Mist is broken on 15.6 or higher.

It's a known issue but until Nindi has time to update Mist, I would suggest looking at alternatives.

Probably one would be to use a Mac with MIST that has not yet been upgraded to 15.6 or later.
Now, I just need to see if I was wise enough to keep a Mac pre 15.6, that I have easy access too.
and
A less quick solution is to use a VM of an older OS with MIST until this issue is resolved
(VMware Fusion & Parallels are two apps to do that but there are still others too)

While www.mrmacintosh.com is one of my favorite sites and a great source for the InstallAssitant, it does not allow you to create a complete disk image that MIST also does which is my choice. It really depends on how you save what MIST can create.

As an FYI, I just tested out using MIST under macOS 15.5 and as was reported. MIST behaved without any problems in creating a disk image of 15.6.1. That info from grahampugh was really critical to at least temporarily solving the "apparent" MIST problems.

To download (only) the macOS installer PKG, DownloadFullInstaller is valid. Moreover, it runs fine on Sequoia and Tahoe.
