This turns out to be a docs/setup mismatch, not a missing model-map bug.

On OpenCode v1.0.210+, the modern template intentionally shows 9 base model entries because the rest of the shipped presets are selected through --variant. The current shipped catalog is 34 presets total, not 9 total models.

I opened a fix here: #100

That PR does three things:

• corrects the stale 7 / 26 counts in the docs
• explains the 9 base models + 34 presets via --variant behavior more explicitly
• adds the same note to the installer output so this is clearer during setup

Example on modern OpenCode:
opencode run "test" --model=openai/gpt-5.4 --variant=high

If you want, I can follow up with a separate enhancement for a generated preset inventory command or auto-synced model list, but I kept this PR scoped to the current confusion in #98.

Actual fix is now on PR #100.

The installer default no longer drops users into the compact 9-entry view. It now writes a merged full catalog config by default, so fresh installs get both:

• modern base entries like gpt-5.4 for --variant
• explicit preset entries like gpt-5.4-high directly in pickers

--modern still keeps the compact variant-only config, and --legacy still keeps the explicit legacy-only layout.

I validated the generated config in isolated temp homes:

• default: 43 entries
• --modern: 9
• --legacy: 34
