Support for path manipulation methods

Python's pathlib package has several methods such as .stem and .suffix and .suffixes that provide valuable information about specific components of a path. It would be nice if this package had similar methods.

I'm totally open to that idea. I'd be open to PRs for adding these. I add features on an as-needed basis myself so feel free to submit something!
