I like to design and build things. I've built tools for a cancer research laboratory 👨🔬, open government efforts 🏛️, and a bunch of startups and small companies along the way 👨💻.
I used to see myself only as a builder 👷, but I got fascinated by dynamic teams (not just software teams) and found myself in engineering management for the better part of a decade, including leading a team at GitLab 🦊. Turns out you can come back from management, so now I'm an independent consulting engineer working on Rails apps, developer tooling, and GitHub migrations 🔧.
I mostly work in Ruby and Rails, and I'm happiest when I solve problems, especially within a team 🤝.
