Multi-episode files

I just wanted to check on guidelines for files with multiple episodes. I'm working on importing the Evangelion ultimate edition. Some of the discs only have 1 track which contains all 8 episodes on the disc. Is there a preferred way to label these discs in the disc-summary.txt? I am planning to add chapter markers for where each episode starts/stops, but I was wondering if the Episode tag supports multiple episodes?

Example:

Name: Neon Genesis Evangelion - Disc 1
Source file name: 00000.mpls
Duration: 2:49:11
Chapters count: 37
Size: 43.1 GB
Segment count: 8

Yes, the episode tag is just a string so it could be anything. I think What you have here (Episode: 1-9) is good. It would be so helpful if you can get the timestamps in the chapters. Is your plan to do something like:

Chapters:
-Episode 1 (<timestamp>)
-Episode 2 (<timestamp>)

Whatever you think is the most useful information for someone ripping that same disc in the future. Because likely someone would rip the whole item and then split it later into multiple files right?

Yeah, I haven't looked at how the chapter markers work, but I will mark the start of each episode with its title and timestamp.

Yup, the easiest thing is to rip the whole file and split based on chapter number in mkvtoolnix so I will probably mark chapter number too.

Chapter markers are a list that should map to the number of chapters in the file. So that could be tricky in this case since the file has 37 chapters I am assuming there are chapters for each episode as well as chapters within each episode. So you may need to do something like:

Chapters:
-Episode 1 Start (Timestamp)
-Episode 1 
-Episode 1 
-Episode 1 
-Episode 1 
-Episode 2 Start (Timestamp)
-Episode 2
-Episode 2
-Episode 2
-Episode 2
-Episode 3 Start (Timestamp)
...

Kind of messy/hacky but there should be 37 entries if there are 37 chapters in the file. Again - whatever you think is most useful to the future person ripping that disc - go with that
