Unexpected tag for `v3.3.0.dev`

Recently a new tag was created for v3.3.0.dev

AFAICT there are no .dev tags historically

Is tag intended for consumption? Or was it accidentally created?

Hi @jakirkham, apologies for the confusion. This tag is intended to clarify the point after a branch has been created. Where development for the next CCCL release will begin. This is used to harden the results of git describe when applied to main or release branches.

Without it, a git describe would be based on vX.Y.Z-rc0 from the previous version and can be rather confusing.
