## Getting there

The [University of Chicago | John W. Boyer
Center](https://maps.app.goo.gl/ZGsSNiFAddyisY4R6) is situated in the 13th
district of Paris, which makes the venue easily accessible via public transport
(metro, tram, RER, and bus).

For your convenience, we recommend installing the official [Île-de-France
Mobilités application](https://www.iledefrance-mobilites.fr/en/application) on
your smartphone. It allows you to buy tickets, plan your journey, and check
real-time traffic information.

If you are arriving by air:
- **From Paris-Orly Airport (ORY):** Metro line 14 is the fastest
public-transport connection to Paris, and it serves the airport directly.
- **From Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport (CDG):** the **RER B** is the main rail link to Paris and serves major hubs such as **Gare du Nord** and **Châtelet**.

Note: to reach the city from both airports, you need to buy a [special
ticket](https://www.iledefrance-mobilites.fr/en/titres-et-tarifs/detail/ticket-paris-region-aeroports)
(€14 one way).

If you are arriving by train:
- **Gare d’Austerlitz** is especially convenient, as it is located in the 13th
arrondissement and is connected to **metro lines 5 and 10** as well as **RER
C**.
- **Gare de Lyon** is also a practical arrival point, with connections to **metro lines 1 and 14** and **RER A and D**.
- Other major Paris stations, including **Gare du Nord**, **Gare de l’Est**, and **Gare Montparnasse**, are well connected to the city’s transport network; the Île-de-France Mobilités app is the easiest way to plan your onward journey to the venue.

## Accommodation

The FEniCS conference registration fee does not include accommodation. All
participants must organize their own accommodation.

Paris offers accommodation for a wide range of budgets. There are many
accommodation options in the **13th arrondissement** and in nearby areas with
convenient public-transport connections to the venue. The most practical areas
to look for are **Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand**, **Olympiades**, **Place
d’Italie**, and **Gare d’Austerlitz / Gare de Lyon**. For a good balance between
**price** and **location**, we suggest the following options close to the venue:

- [Urban Bivouac](https://www.ubparis.com/en/) — a modern 3-star hotel in the 13th arrondissement, very close to **Olympiades** (line 14) and within easy reach of **Bibliothèque François-Mitterrand**.
- [ibis Styles Paris Massena Olympiades](https://all.accor.com/hotel/9525/index.en.shtml) — a practical option in the 13th arrondissement, close to **Olympiades** (line 14), **Porte d’Ivry** (line 7), and tram line **T3a**.
- [B&B HOTEL Paris Italie Porte de Choisy](https://www.hotel-bb.com/en/hotel/paris-italie-porte-de-choisy) — a more budget-friendly option, located near **Porte de Choisy** with convenient metro, tram, and bus connections.
