cleanup: remove unused betas params

Details

While working on some other issue I noticed that there were some use cases where we pass the betas parameter around, although its not used in the end.
It happened when people were splitting out functions and typescript types weren't updated accordingly, hence nobody noticed. Its just grown historically.
