1. Launch app
2. Open workpace chat
3. Create a manual expense
4. Go to reports
5. Enter view:line
6. Change app language to chinese/japanese
7. Go to reports again
8. Note month display in x axis

Expected Result:

In view:line chart, month must be displayed correctly in Chinese/Japanese language.

Actual Result:

In view:line chart, month is not displayed correctly in Chinese/Japanese language.

In view:line chart, month is not displayed correctly in Chinese/Japanese language.

What is the root cause of that problem?

The chart component renders x-axis labels using @shopify/react-native-skia's SkiaText with the ExpensifyNeue-Regular font. This font does not include CJK (Chinese/Japanese/Korean) character glyphs.

In getMonthSections, months are formatted using format(monthDate, 'MMMM yyyy') which produces CJK characters for Japanese/Chinese locales (e.g., "2月 2026" for Japanese, "二月 2026" for Chinese).

The chart's getLabel for the MONTH group passes this formattedMonth directly to the chart for rendering. Since the Skia font can't render CJK characters, the month labels display incorrectly on the x-axis.

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

In src/components/Search/SearchChartView.tsx, modify the getLabel function for CONST.SEARCH.GROUP_BY.MONTH to construct a numeric-only label from the raw month and year values instead of using the locale-dependent formattedMonth. This keeps the formattedMonth intact for the list view (which uses React Native's text rendering with proper font fallback) while giving the chart a label that only contains characters supported by the ExpensifyNeue-Regular font.
