Action Performed:

Pre-condition: Set app to XXX maximum font size

1. Launch app
2. Tap fab - create expense
3. Note "manual" and "scan" option partially hidden
4. Create a expense without category
5. Note in preview "draft", missing category error partially hidden
6. Open the expense
7. Note "Draft" tag on top; lower half of "you" in "waiting for you to fix expenses" message is partially hidden.
8. Tap submit, approve
9. Now note " outstanding" & "Approved" tag on top is hidden partially

Expected Result:

All UI elements, error messages, and tags should be fully visible at maximum font size.

Actual Result:

*"Scan" and "manual" options in the expense creation start flow are partially hidden.

*"Draft" and missing category error in expense preview are partially hidden.

*Draft / Outstanding / Approved tags on top in the expense details page are partially hidden.

*The lower half of “you” in the sentence “waiting for you to fix expenses” is also partially hidden.

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

*"Scan" and "manual" options in the expense creation start flow are partially hidden.

What is the root cause of that problem?

We're using the fixed height for these components so that's not correct because the height should be flexible when the system font-size changes. Nothing wrong with the lineHeight

For example, with tab selector:

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

we shouldn't use the fixed height or minHeight because the padding is enough to control the height of these components, and it'll avoid the same issue when users change to the smallest font size

I'd like to hear how the @Expensify/design team thinks about this.

On Android, there are two settings: font size and display size. The table below shows how the app looks with the default size and after increasing each setting.

On iOS, I think there is only a font size setting, so they look like the second column.

I'm pretty keen for @dubielzyk-expensify's thoughts on this one.

If there's a way to fix these max-font-size issues without impacting the default styles, I'm down to find a solution. But truthfully, while the screenshots in OP don't look great, they are essentially functional, so I don't know that I'd put a supreme amount of effort into making them "perfect" for this massive font size (which I imagine is a bit of an edge case).
