Action Performed:

1. Open the Android Hybrid app
2. Navigate to the Workflows in the Workspace settings
3. Tap on the Add bank account in the payment section
4. Tap on the Log into your bank
5. Tap on the Confirm button

Expected Result:

The top of the Plaid page lower than the phone's status bar

Actual Result:

The top of the Plaid connect page overlaps with the phone's status bar

Please re-state the problem that we are trying to solve in this issue.

The top of the Plaid connect page overlaps with the phone's status bar

What is the root cause of that problem?

We are currently using react-native-plaid-link-sdk version 11.11.0, which does not handle Edge-to-Edge on Android API >= 35. This issue is reproducible on Android versions >= 15 as Edge-to-Edge is enforced and apps are required to handle insets accordingly.

Notice the cross icon and Plaid icon at the top when running on Samsung A14 with Android 15:

What changes do you think we should make in order to solve the problem?

We should update the react-native-plaid-link-sdk version to 12.0.0 or greater, as they added support for Android API 35 with Edge-to-Edge compatibility in version 12.0.0. See the changelog here:

Now, upgrading the version won't be enough, as we have a patch for react-native-plaid-link-sdk which was added to solve this issue:

However, we will not require this patch anymore after upgrading the library version to 12, as they have added the patch solution in version 11.12.1. See the changelog and corresponding PR:

We can compare their solution with the current patch:

• react-native-plaid-link-sdk+11.11.0.patch

Note: I was getting some compilation errors with react-native-plaid-link-sdk version 12.0.0, maybe because of some dependencies, IDK. But it worked after upgrading to version 12.0.2 and removing the react-native-plaid-link-sdk+11.11.0.patch file.
We can also upgrade to a more recent version or decide this in the PR phase.
