The build and release tooling that supports them — packaging, Helm charts and the published version catalogue — is on GitLab as well.
Not everything has moved. Several components are still actively developed here on GitHub. A GitHub repository is part of the move only if its README says so and its code is read-only; everything else is live.
GitLab lets us keep source code, Docker images, Helm charts and version catalogues on a single platform that adopters can also self-host on-premises — free and open-source, including in air-gapped environments. That portability matters for the public-sector deployments OpenG2P serves.
OpenG2P is an open-source platform that enables governments and humanitarian organisations to deliver critical social benefits directly to those who need them. It facilitates the building of secure, inclusive and efficient registries and digital cash transfer delivery systems.
OpenG2P is a Digital Public Good (DPG) recognised by the DPGA and a significant building block of a country's Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI). OpenG2P contributes to the G2P transfers DPI layer in a digital economy, while leveraging DPGs in other categories.
OpenG2P is a not-for-profit project housed in the International Institute of Information Technology, Bangalore (IIITB), a non-profit research university.
